Before Ikaros flew, his father gave him one instruction. Not too low, or the sea will soak your wings. Not too high, or the sun will melt the wax. We train the same way: enough to change you, never so much that it breaks you. Progress you can keep for ten years.

Too high

Ego, burnout, injury.

The course

Coached, measured, progressive.

Too low

Comfort, skipped sessions, no change.

02 · The name

An ancient namefor a Kuwaiti island.

Long before it was Failaka, the island in Kuwait Bay was called Ikaros. Alexander the Great's sailors named it after an island in the Aegean, and left a temple, a fortress and a Greek inscription behind. We brought the name home.

IStrength

Named after Daedalus's workshop, where the wings were made.

The strength floor: black steel racks and timber lifting platforms with brass corners, the sea beyond the glass.

Strong is built, not found.

Racks, platforms and free weights in the room named after Daedalus's workshop, where the wings were made. Every lift is coached. Every programme is written for you.

Every turn makes you faster.

Sleds, rowers, bikes and coached circuits, laid out like the maze Daedalus built. Small classes, timed to the second.

Where the sea meets the island.

A limestone cold-plunge pool, steam rising, the calm sea beyond the glass at dawn.

Sauna, cold plunge, pool and physio, facing the sea. Recovery is part of every membership, because the strongest athletes are the ones who stay healthy.
